Steinmeier and his Kuwaiti counterpart discuss situation in the Middle East

On Wednesday 19 October 2016, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier met with the Foreign Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, at the Federal Foreign Office. Their talks focused on bilateral relations, the situation in Yemen, and in particular on joint efforts to provide humanitarian aid to, and to stabilise, the region. The ministers also discussed the situation in Ukraine. On that topic, the German Foreign Minister said it was now important “to revitalise both the talks and ongoing negotiations”.

Call for Kuwaiti companies representing German companies in Kuwait to register at the German Embassy

The German Embassy wishes to extend and update its information basis on German business in Kuwait. Therefore, all Kuwaiti companies acting as an agent for or representing German companies in any other way in Kuwait are invited to register at the Embassy.


Brochure "Dialogue among Civilizations"

Germany is committed to intercultural dialogue with the Islamic world both at the grassroot level and in international fora. The Federal Foreign Office has published a Brochure on this important topic.

Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle states in his foreword to the brochure:

Karlfried Bergner is the German Ambassador to Kuwait. The embassy team - together with its German and Kuwaiti partners – promotes the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors such as politics, economy, the media, culture and sports. Karlsruhe Concert Duo delighted its audience at Yarmouk Cultural Centre (YCC)


Pianist Dagmar Hartmann and cellist Reinhard Armleder, known as Karlsruhe Concert Duo, renowned for its many international awards, performed in Kuwait for the third time after visits in 2008 and 2012. This event was made possible by the well-established cooperation between the Embassy and Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah.

Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Ambassador of Germany to Kuwait Karlfried Bergner, for the fourth time the Christmas bazar organized by the German Speaking Ladies of Kuwait (GLOK) took place in the German Ambassador’s residence in Mishref on 25 November 2016.

“Franco-German Education & Cultural Fair”


On 6th and 7th November 2016 the “Franco-German Education & Cultural Fair”, the first of its kind in the Gulf Region, took place in Arraya Center in Kuwait City. The official opening was attended prominently by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Bader Al-Issa, the French Ambassador Christian Nakhlé and the Chargés d'Affaires of the German Embassy Ruediger Zettel.
