Bonn will become the host city for the IPBES Secretariat
The secretariat of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) will be located in Bonn. Representatives from almost 100 countries made the decision late on 19 April in Panama City during the second IPBES plenary session.
Technology meets progress: the focus at the Hannover Messe 2012, which took place under the motto “greentelligence” from April 23 to 27, is on “green” technologies. The world’s key technology event with eight flagship exhibitions and more than 230,000 visitors is regarded as the international showcase of numerous German industrial sectors and the world’s largest fair for capital goods.

Brochure "Dialogue among Civilizations"
Germany is committed to intercultural dialogue with the Islamic world both at the grassroot level and in international fora. The Federal Foreign Office has published a Brochure on this important topic.
Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle states in his foreword to the brochure:
"Openness, respect and trust are the pillars for a dialogue between equals and for friendships at all levels in our countries, as well as between Germany and the Islamic world."
