The Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which will take place from 2 to 5 May 2016, is this year being hosted for the first time ever by Germany. More than 3,000 international decision-makers from the fields of business, politics and civil society will come together to discuss the future of financial and economic cooperation between Europe and Asia.

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visists Kuwait

During his visit to Kuwait, bilateral and regional topics were the main topics on the agenda for Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his Kuwaiti interlocutors. His talks with Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, showed broad consensus on the current crises.

Energy transition: Germany’s path into the future

For decades Germany’s energy transition has been the global pioneer in rethinking the topic of climate protection. Since then Germany has been pursuing ambitious goals allowing a clean and sustainable electricity supply. Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) presents a short film about Germany's Renewable Energy Revolution, the Energiewende (energy transition), explaining future plans for a “green” Germany in it. The German Embassy wishes to extend and update its information basis on German business in Kuwait. Therefore, all Kuwaiti companies acting as an agent for or representing German companies in any other way in Kuwait are invited to register at the Embassy.

Brochure "Dialogue among Civilizations"

Germany is committed to intercultural dialogue with the Islamic world both at the grassroot level and in international fora. The Federal Foreign Office has published a Brochure on this important topic.

Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle states in his foreword to the brochure:

"Openness, respect and trust are the pillars for a dialogue between equals and for friendships at all levels in our countries, as well as between Germany and the Islamic world."

German Ambassador handed over a commemorative plaque to the Kuwait House of National Works Museum

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion in 1991 Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kuwait Eugen Wollfarth handed over a commemorative plaque to the Kuwait House of National Works Museum on 22 February. The plaque honours the substantial and generous aid Germany provided and allows interested members of the Kuwaiti public to gain a complete historical overview of the dramatic developments back then.
