German Parliament launches web page in Arabic language

On June 6th, 2011, the German Parliament (Bundestag) launched an Arabic language version of its website (www.bundestag.de/ar).   The Bundestag announced on Monday that the Arabic version of its website will provide information on the role and work of the Bundestag, the legislative procedure in Germany and the German electoral system.   The President of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, praised the Arabic version of the website as a very practical und useful help for people in Arab countries “who are struggling for freedom and democracy as well as for building a parliamentary culture”.
