Health Resorts and Spas
The choice is vast. There are some 350 officially recognized spas and health resorts between the North Sea and the Alps: Over 300 modern health centers, more than 50 climatic health resorts, 48 seaside health resorts, 62 Kneipp hydrotherapy resorts and over 160 mineral spas and mud spas and a whole range of hotels and specialist wellness centers are all ready to cater to your relaxation, fitness and well-being.
In Germany, the idea of cultivating a sense of wellbeing has a great history: In the 18th and 19th centuries, many crowned heads and great figures from the worlds of art and culture would meet up at German spa resorts. One can discover traces of those days at every turn in spa resorts such as Baden-Baden, Bad Kissingen, Bad Neuenahr and Bad Wildungen. The flair and elegance of these towns will transform a visit into a wellness experience for all the senses.

Wellness & Relaxation
Relaxation, revitalization, recreation: when people go on vacation, they want to have a sense of well-being. On a pure wellness holiday, the main aim is to be pampered – and this can take various forms: anti-aging and beauty treatments, Far Eastern massage, fitness, the sum total of which is wellness. Be it aroma baths, sound massages or oxygen bars, Germany’s more than 500 wellness hotels are constantly extending the scope of their relaxation programmes.
The Internet can help you make your choice. The number of programmes on offer is particularly large in the coastal regions and in southern and south-western Germany. Although wellness breaks have long been popular with Germans, international guests are still in the process of discovering German resorts. In 2005, overnight stays by foreign vacationers at German health resorts rose by 10%. An increasingly popular package is “Peeling and Putting” – wellness and golf. This is an appealing combination, given that many regard golf as a form of outdoor meditation!
