Christian Wulff was elected as the new President of the Federal Republic of Germany on 30 June 2010. The President of the Federal Republic of Germany holds office for a term of five years and may be re-elected once.

After scheduling your appointment you will receive a confirmation of your appointment via email. Please print this email and bring it together with your visa application and all necessary documents to the scheduled appointment at the Embassy.

Please note that during the summer season there are many applicants asking for an appointment. We therefore ask to schedule an appointment as early as possible.

In order to provide the same service to all our customers, we have to point out that we can only accept complete applications handed in at the scheduled appointment by the applicant himself. Information about the required documents can be found below. Please make sure that your visa application is complete.

Appointments cannot be scheduled via telephone. Please do not contact Embassy staff in order to make an appointment.


Please be punctual. If you are more than 20 minutes late your appointment will be cancelled automatically.

In order to avoid time-consuming security checks, we would like to ask our visa applicants, to refrain from bringing handbags and bigger bags to the Embassy.

Jazz Concert in the Residence

Nidia Ortiz and Vladislav Sendecki charmed the audience during a private concert in the residence of the German Ambassador on 27 April 2010. Both are among the stars of the "Gulf Jazz Festival" which took place for the fifth time in Kuwait from 28 until 30 April 2010. The German Embassy in Kuwait was one of the main sponsors of the event.

German Embassy participates in Global Tree Day

On the initiative of the "International Renewable Energy Organization" (IREO) representatives of the diplomatic corps in Kuwait planted several trees in the Shuwaikh public garden on 11 April 2010. The German tree was planted by Deputy Head of Mission Beatrix Kania. With this initiative, IREO wants to promote awareness for the issue of renewable energy in Kuwait. The project was supported by the Public Authority for Agriculture.

German week in Kuwait attracts many visitors

"Discover Germany" was the motto of the German week which the German Embassy in Kuwait organized for the first time together with the German National Tourism Office.

Germany was at the center of two events in the biggest shopping mall in Kuwait, the Avenues Mall. Visitors could enjoy the cultural heritage of Germany in the exhibition "German UNESCO World Heritage Sites". Dean and Deluca showcased German products and let visitors enjoy the culinary delights of Germany. The German National Tourism Office provided information on Germany as a travel destination in a roadshow. A reception at the German Ambassador's concluded the series of events.

Bavarian Minister of State Visits Kuwait

The Bavarian Minister for Federal and European Affairs, Mrs Emilia Müller, visited Kuwait from 28 until 29 March 2010. Bavaria is one of the sixteen federal states of Germany.

Gala Dinner at the German Residence

Amassador Dr. Worbs hosted a Gala Dinner on March 2 to honour 90 INJAZ volunteers.

Members of the German business community and a number of media representatives were also present. INJAZ Kuwait, a non-profit, non-governmental organization, strives to inspire and prepare the youth of Kuwait in order to succeed in a global economy.

German business delegation visits Kuwait

An economic delegation from the German health sector visited Kuwait from January 31 until February 1. During the visit, the companies got first hand information about business opportunities in the health and medical sector in Kuwait.

Exhibition "Mosques in Germany" opened in the Grand Mosque

On 8 December 2009, the Undersecretary in the Awqaf Ministry, Dr. Adel Al-Falah, and the German Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Michael Worbs, jointly opened the exhibition "Mosques in Germany" by the German photographer Wilfried Dechau in the Grand Mosque.

Wilfried Dechau travelled through Germany during the past year in order to capture places of worship of Islam in Germany in their urban context: His photos show the interior of the mosques, Friday prayer, imams, children, men and women.

The exhibition was opened to the public until 15 December 2009 in the Grand Mosque.
