From 21 to 25 May 2017, the German Embassy Kuwait will present the touring exhibition “Germany’s Energiewende” in Arabic language at The Avenues. This show is realised in cooperation with Siemens.
Germany is in the midst of a radical transformation. The so-called “Energiewende” (“energy transition”) aims at cutting German energy demand by half and base supply nearly entirely on renewable energies by 2050. Furthermore, Germany plans to abandon nuclear power altogether by 2022.
This plan has created a lot of attention globally. Many people are interested to learn about the German experience. To cater for this demand, the German Federal Foreign Office has devised the travelling exhibition “Germany’s Energiewende” in cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Since its inauguration in spring 2016, the exhibition has been presented at more than 30 locations in about 15 countries around the world. The German Embassy Kuwait will present it from 21 to 25 at The Avenues.
The travelling exhibition is complemented by a comprehensive website which explains the different elements and the development of the Energiewende. It can be accessed through www.energiewende-global.com
