German Business Council Kuwait (GBCK) 10th Anniversary marked with reception in the Ambassador’s residence

The German Ambassador Eugen Wollfarth hosted a reception in his residence in Mishref on 18 May 2015 honoring GBCK and guests. The programme included academic and business elements.

The rector of the German University of Technology in Muscat (GUtech) Professor Dr. Michael Modigell, key note speaker of the evening, gave an introduction into academic life at GUtech, which is a private university in Oman. GUtech was established in 2007 in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University in Germany, one of the leading and most prestigious universities of technology in Europe and the world. The audience, consisting of high ranking invitees of all business fields, followed the presentation with great interest.

The second part of the event consisted of a celebration on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the German Business Council Kuwait. GBCK was founded 10 years ago and has meanwhile grown to 100 members. President of the board Hannelore Graf handed over awards to a number of distinguished companies which had supported GBCK in its foundation and later activities. Among these companies are A.R. Albisher & Z.Alkazemi Co (Mercedes), Fouad Al Ghanim & Sons Automotive (Audi), Lufthansa, DHL, Bosch Automotive Services, Siemens, Tristar Motorcycles, Behbehani Motors Company (Porsche & VW), Ali AbdulWahab Al-Mutawa Commercial Company (Bosch Appliances), International Optics and Tectron.  Most of these distinguished companies were personally represented by their respective owners and their CEOs.
