On 29 March Horst Blasinger, cultural attaché at the German embassy, and Zeina Nseir, press section, visited the Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST), which is Kuwait’s oldest private university.

The visit took place at the invitation of Dr Ali R. Ansari, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, who presented - supported by some of his colleagues - his own faculty and also the rest of the university in the course of an one hour long conversation. Furthermore, they discussed possibilities of cooperation with the embassy as well as with other educational German institutions, e.g. the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) or Goethe Institute. The visit ended with a trip to the “German Corner” of the library - a “reading corner” with books and other printed material in German - which, amongst others, the German embassy helped to establish.
